Religion, Race, and Nation in Early 19th Century Black American”.Glaude conveyed the Founder’s Day Convocation keynote address in 2007, during the 140th anniversary of Morehouse College. He is famously known for being a contributor and panelist throughout the State of the Black Union and is also a contributor to the Huffington Post. Alongside Cornel West and Michael Eric Dyson, he has also appeared in the documentary, Stand, which is produced and directed by Tavis Smiley. Moreover, Glaude has appeared on The Travis Smiley Show, CNN, FOX News’ Hannity & Colmes Show, MSNBC, and C-Span. He won the Modern Language Association’s William Sanders Scarborough Book Prize for his first book entitled “Exodus! Religion, Race, and Nation in Early 19th Century Black America”. ![]() In addition, Glaude was a Visiting Scholar in African-American Studies at Harvard University as well as Amherst College. He has received several awards including the Carl A. Glaude began his teaching career at Bowdoin College where he worked as chair of the Department of Religion. ![]()
